Brian Norman Jr. has reiterated his desire to face Jaron 'Boots Ennis' after he completed his latest WBO welterweight defence against Jin Sasaki in Japan on Thursday.

The Atlanta native scored a major fifth-round knockout victory to retain his grasp on the strap against the hometown challenger at Tokyo's Ota City General Gymnasium.

Norman Jr., who now moves to a 28-0 record with 22 KOs, ended the contest with a vicious left hook to stop his opponent and break a nine-bout unbeaten streak too.

Speaking afterwards however, the American reiterated his desire to take on IBF and WBA welterweight champion Ennis, in what would be a three-belt unification clash.

"I wish I had a certain fight coming up," he said. "They heard B. Norm the storm is coming, and you know what happens when a storm is coming. You grab your boots and run.

"We shall see what’s next for me. It was a wonderful fight. I had a great opponent in front of me. You all seen he got heart. That boy is not a slouch I give nothing but props to him.

"I love ya’ll over here in Japan. I’d gladly come back," Norman said. “I knew whatever he was bringing to the table, I’m a champion for a reason. As you saw, I showed that.”

Norman Jr. is looking to further stap his authority on the division this year, with Britain's Conor Benn another foe who could figure following his defeat to Chris Eubank Jr. in April.
